BioWeb drama journal for Mikhail Ramphet, a character from the play novel Animamundi.
A friend of Georik and St Germant since childhood, Mikhail has always aspired to the chivalrous tradition and the rank of Royal Knight. Having achieved this dream and become captain of the Royal Guard in an age when industrialization is on the rise and wealth or political connections mean far more than piety or heroism, he finds himself troubled by the realization that his achievements mean little in the grand scheme of things. To make matters worse for him, he has been unable to forget his defeat, nine years previous, when Georik bested him in the royal fencing competition and then abandoned swordsmanship for a doctor's study.
No matter how challenging it may be to balance duty, his obligation to friends, and his obsession with uncovering the corrupt forces that threaten the crown and all of Hardland, Mikhail is determined to do all that, and prove to the world that he is a better swordsman than his friend Georik.
